What 2018 Sounds Like (So Far)

Due to my time off work, and because my mood has been a bit of a downer for a good part of this year so far, I really haven't spent a lot of time buying new music, and if anything, I've been struggling to really get stuck into albums. I'm hoping that's going to change with the summer months and with my recent purchases of a few new albums, and on top of that, I've been listening to big cluster of singles this year, so I decided to pop them into a Spotify playlist which can be found at the bottom of this post.

  1. Whiteout - Warpaint
  2. Ashes to Ashes - Warpaint
  3. Billie Holiday - Warpaint
  4. Champion - Fall Out Boy
  5. Misery - Gwen Stefani
  6. Make Me Like You - Gwen Stefani
  7. Used To Love You - Gwen Stefani
  8. Can't Stop the Feeling! - Justin Timberlake
  9. Dancing On My Own - Robyn
  10. Stay - 30 Seconds to Mars

  12. Princess of China - Coldplay & Rihanna
  13. Walking On Air - AFTRHR
  14. Perfect - AFTRHR
  15. So Divine - AFTRHR
  16. Hard Times - Paramore
  17. Dusk Till Dawn - Zayn & Sia

  19. Say Amen (Saturday Night) - Panic! at the Disco
  20. Younger Now - Miley Cyrus
  21. Malibu - Miley Cyrus

I LIKE IT WHEN YOU SLEEP, FOR YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL YET TO UNAWARE OF IT | THE 1975: I first heard The 1975 when I was working in the Yankee Store in 2016. We had Chocolate on the playlist for the store, and I honestly thought it was some has-beens from the 90's singing it. It wasn't until it got stuck in my head one day and I looked it up that I realised it was that band that everyone was talking about on Twitter. I purchased Chocolate along with Somebody Else which has to be one of my favourite songs of all time, ever, and eventually this year decided to purchase the whole of the above album (could the title be any more emo poet? lmao) and I'm head over heels. I love the way they sound fresh but still have those 80's and 90's vibes. There's some really amazing tracks on this album, like She's American, Lost My Head, The 1975, This Must Be My Dream and The Sound. And how beautiful is Please Be Naked? I can't fault this album.

AMERICA  | 30 SECONDS TO MARS: Seeing 30STM live for my birthday just reiterated how enamoured I am with this band. I haven't listened much to this album at the time of writing this post, but I know I'm going to love it. I love everything they do, and I adored their live performances of Stay (the Rihanna cover they did a while back) and Dangerous Night so I've been listening to both these tracks on repeat.

What music have you been loving this year?
