3 Everyday Nude Lips

3 every day nude liquid lipsticks jeffree star celebrity skin barry m on the scene nyxsoft matte lip cream rome cruelty free swatches review

Last year I posted about my top 5 nude lip products, but a lot has changed since then. I purchased new lippies, got rid of old ones, and considered the fact that I pretty much never wore anything but liquid-to-matte lipsticks. Today I thought I'd share with you three nude liquid lipsticks that I absolutely love, and reach for frequently on a nude lip kinda day.

The latest to my collection, Barry M's Matte Me Up liquid lip formula isn't a disappointment. It's one of those rare drugstore gems that stays put pretty damn well and dries down to be matte but comfortable. It's not often I come across such a pleasant formula, and it's already caused me to pick up another of the shades from this line (Paparazzi, the red). The formula glides on really easily and dries down quickly, leaving bold, pigmented and lasting colour. Although it looks similar to Celebrity Skin in the swatches, it's definitely not a dupe as this is a much more orangey brown, looking a little darker and harsher than Celebrity Skin with prominent orange tones.

The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is a formula that everybody seems to love, and whilst it took me a while to come round to them, I actually really enjoy them, even more so now they've brought out some purple and blue shades. One of my favourite, go-to everyday nudes has to be the shade Rome, a beautiful pinky brown colour that dries down to a "my lips but better" kind of shade. The SMLC line isn't the most long lasting, but it makes up for this in quick and easy application and a comfortable, mousse-like formula. If I'm doing a 'no make-up' make-up look, it's often Rome I put on my lips.

My favourite of the lot has to be Celebrity Skin. This is a cult favourite from Jeffree Star's Velour Liquid Lipsticks line, and it's easy to see why. It's described on the website as being a 'soft brown nude with a peachy undertone', and I think this is accurate. Although similar to Barry M's On the Scene, it's paler, softer and creamier looking (and feeling, in terms of formula). I adore the JSC liquid lipstick line, hailing this is as one of my favourites, only beaten to first place by Sugarpill's liquid lipsticks. I love the doe-foot applicator as it seems to be easier for me to overdraw my lips evenly. I reach for Celebrity Skin a lot, probably the most from my JSC nude shades, as it's easy to reapply and lasts very well throughout the day. With the JSC line, there's no flaking and minimal transference during the day. Whilst it's looking a tad paler than it appears in real life, you can see me wearing Celebrity Skin here.

L-R: Celebrity Skin, On the Scene, Rome.

Do you like any of these shades? What are your favourite nude lip shades?
