The Drugstore's Hidden Gem | NYX Lid Lingeries

nyx lid lingerie sweet cloud review

There are some products that just pass you by as a beauty blogger. It's hard to find the time to test and try and even research things you might want because of how extremely over-saturated the make-up market has become. Don't get me wrong, I love new brands and new products. I love how accessible make-up has become in recent years, and I think it's incredible that you don't have to spend a lot of money these days to get a lot of bang for your buck. But it's definitely overwhelming wading through the hundreds of product launches each month, and although I'd consider NYX one of my favourite brands due to their innovative and bold range, I do struggle to keep up with the latest releases.

The NYX Lid Lingerie line is one of those that I completely missed. With new launches happening all the time, and with the fact that Boots only stock so many products, it's easy to miss this range of liquid eyeshadows, but believe me, they're well worth checking out.

Shopping on Debenhams, I came across the Lid Lingerie collection whilst picking up a new KVD Glimmer Veil, and immediately took to Google to check out swatches. From what I'd read, the line was meant to be a sheer and weightless liquid eyeshadow that set down to a tint, but from the swatches I'd seen, they looked to me like they'd pack a bit more of a punch. I was looking for an easy-to-wear and quick to apply eyeshadow for those mornings where I really don't have the time, as since going cruelty-free I haven't been able to use the Maybelline Color Tattoos that I had previously favoured.

The shade I ordered from the Lid Lingerie line is called Sweet Cloud, and is a beautiful soft bronze with a subtle, metallic shimmer. I tend to use a soft brown shade in the crease and then just pop this onto the lid with the doe-foot applicator, blending out as necessary with my finger. I tend to use patting motions to make sure that I don't swipe any pigmentation away, and I find that I'm left with a quick and easy eye look that looks like I've made the effort.

There's no mess, no creasing, and no transferring once the product sets, and I find that these last easily all day on me - although I do make sure to prime with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion underneath. As I suspected, this isn't so much a sheer tint of colour but a bold, pigmented application across the eye. Safe to say I love to wear this product, and I actually intend on buying more. The colour range isn't the most extensive, sticking mostly to nude shades, but it is gorgeous nonetheless and there is something for every skin tone, whether you're a cool-tone lover or a warm-tone fan.
