I am constantly on the hunt for grey liquid lipsticks. Not only are they rare to come by in a true grey shade (it's always greyish blue or purple), but they're also hard to find in a formula I like. It always seem to be the formulas I find drying and uncomfortable that produce some beaut shades.

I talk about it all the time, but the Stone Fox NYX Liquid Suede is by far one of my favourite lip colours of all time, but I can't get on board with the formula. It doesn't set, it smudges on my face and teeth, and it transfers onto everything I touch with my lips - so I'm always after a good, matte-setting liquid lip.

Enter the NYX Christmas sets that recently hit Boots. Overwhelmed as I was by all the exciting choices, I was quick to spot the box set called 'Toronto', which included 4 eyeshadow colours, 1 blush, 1 highlight and 1 Soft Matte Lip Cream in a new and exclusive shade. Toronto is a stunning blue-grey colour in the cult-favourite Soft Matte Lip Cream formula. It's comfortable, easy to wear and has a delightful, light vanilla scent. It's not quite the match of Stone Fox - its tone is slightly different, more blue-grey than the unique green-grey of the Liquid Suede, but it's gorgeous in its own right, and is a stunning and unique colour to be found in the drugstore.

This colour is surprisingly opaque - I always worry with the SMLC shades that their moussey formula will lead to them not being as pigmented, as there have been similar formulas in the past that have been streaky and patchy. This wears better than the lighter SMLC shades, like Rome, and tends to wear away in the centre of the lips, leaving the rest relatively intact - although I wasn't eating oily foods while wear-testing this! If you wanted to increase longevity, it may be an idea to pick up the Stone Fox lip pencil and pair it with this shade - they're quite similar in colour so the pencil works well in partnership with Toronto.

The downside? I'm guessing this will be a limited edition colour, so you best be snapping it up quick if you want it. It comes in at £15 for the box set of face and eye colours with the liquid lipstick. I can only hope that NYX decide to make this a permanent shade in their core range.
