I know that Instagram themes aren't for everybody, and I know that nowadays, with the ridiculous Instagram algorithm, people are concerned less about their theme and more about being personal and having fun with their feed. And I'm all for that - but for me, a fun IG comes in the form of having plenty of backup photos in my Dropbox ready to go and post whenever I need them.

If you want to read more on why I like to have an Insta theme, you can check out this post. But today I wanted to share with you some ideas for creating your own theme.
  1. Rainbow theme/colour blocking: think the Kat Von D Beauty page.
  2. Subtle colour shots/colour coordination: currently the theme I'm enjoying, where a main piece in the photo is one colour and I continue to use this colour for the next two shots, too.
  3. Pastels: pretty self-explanatory, but a lot of beauty bloggers make this look amazing!
  4. Grunge: generally involves heavy, distorted filters as well as photos of fishnet tights, lipstick smudges and cigarettes. A pretty cool theme but a little too reminiscent of my past for me. This one is nice because it's a lot more freeing as you can pretty much post anything as long as it's dark, dingy and uses the same filter for every photo.
  5. Black and white: Again, pretty self-explanatory. You could post all your photos in black and white; edit your photos so that there is one part colour; or even post using only black and white items.
  6. Flatlays only: this is a theme a lot of beauty and style bloggers go to. There are tons of accounts showcasing the best flatlays on Instagram!
  7. Selfys only: if make-up's your thing, share all your creative and daily beauty looks! These are some of my favourite accounts to follow.

If you need more inspo, there are plenty of options if you just google 'Instagram themes'. That's a wrap for this post though - let me know if this was of any help to you, and remember to check out the remainder of the 'blogging' category for more tips and how-to's!
