I know what you're all thinking - "you're a bit late to the party, Amanda, aren't you?" And yes, yes I am. As delectable as the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks have always looked, I've not quite been ready to take the plunge, not until about April of this year. Not to mention, I didn't realise for ages that they had a UK stockist, as I didn't want to pay the shipping cost from the US to then get whacked with customs costs as well. The range of liquid lipsticks has always appealed to me though because I love matte lipsticks, especially in unique shades.

In April I took the plunge and ordered my first two Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks, and it's safe to say I was not disappointed. I even ordered two more a few weeks later, and a further three when there was a restock of some shades! I'm really excited to see what the future holds for these babies, I hope an entire new rainbow is added to the line, and that his Skin Frost highlighters are just as wonderful as these lipsticks are. Without any further ado, let's get onto my thoughts...

The Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks are a matte-drying formula in a wide range of beautiful colours that cater to every taste, from the nude-lip wearer, the red-lip lover, and those that enjoy the bold and exciting purples and blues. The product comes in either a hot pink or bright aqua blue cardboard box with the shade name and swatch on the bottom, and the packaging of the tube itself is divine, with a pink top decorated with his logo as well as star shapes, both in a rose-gold shade. The shade names are always on the bottom, usually on a pink sticker, but given that the tube is clear, it's easy to see which shade is which. Whilst the tubes are small, a little of the product goes a long way. I also love that the wand is short so it's easy to get close to the mirror to really sharpen up your lip line. The doe-foot applicator has a unique curved shape to it which makes applying even easier and quicker as they real conform to the contours of your lips. Not everyone likes the doe-foot, and I agree that there are times where it's fluffiness hinders application rather than helps.

These liquid lipsticks are available for $18/£12.46 on the Jeffree Star website, with postage setting you back a further $10.95/£7.58, although who knows what custom charges, if any, you'd get hit with outside of this. They are also available in the UK from Beauty Bay. They are available for £16 a pop, and postage is free over £15 with parcels often arriving the day after you've ordered!

Another few things to note: these liquid lipsticks are eye-safe as well, so can double as liquid eyeliners, and the line is vegan and cruelty-free.

Where do I start? Firstly, these glide on like a total dream. They are soft and moussey, but provide a beautiful, bold pigmentation is just one swipe. White lipstick seems like such an odd thing, and white-anything in terms of pigmentation is often lacking, but Drug Lord packs a punch like nobody's business, and in all honesty, I love the name! That said, it's really hard to apply without it looking streaky so requires a bit of patience. It's best to apply a layer at a time, waiting for the current layer to dry completely before applying the next. I love how ridiculously stark it looks, I feel like I've applied Tippex to my face, lol. I probs won't wear it much as is, but I bought it knowing I'd be able to mix it up with other colours to create my own which I adore the concept of.

There is absolutely no short falls in the pigmentation of these colours, and none are more pigmented than the others. Blue Velvet is stunning, and only takes two swipes for perfect, bold colouring. I love how this one looks, it makes me feel like a real bad-ass, and I love to wear it with just a little mascara, a toned-down base and my brows.

Drying time isn't too long, I often leave mine for about thirty seconds to fully set to its matte finish. These do not feel drying or uncomfortable on the lips, which is a complete shock to the system for me, as most matte lipsticks that I have tried have some element of dryness to them. Once these set, it feels like you're wearing nothing on your lips, they remind me a bit of Sleek's Matte Me in terms of that frothy, lightweight feel (read my full review of the Matte Me line here).

Like most liquid lipsticks, the wear tends to occur the most on the inner parts of the lips, and often happens because of oily foods - I do find that although there's the appearance of transfer, you'll be surprised at how much product is actually still on your lips than off when it comes to snacking, drinking or eating dry foods. I spent about eight hours without my lips feeling dry. Light kisses are also no bother for this lipstick. The only really fault I have with this formula is that the lip line can go a little astray :( It's manageable, but just be a tad careful when eating!

It's also worth noting the fragrance of these liquid lipsticks. According to Jeffree's website FAQ, most of the liquid lipsticks are unscented in that they smell simply of the ingredients, and have not been perfumed with anything extra. However, selected shades do carry a certain smell called the "Rootbeer Float" fragrance, and Blue Velvet is included in this. We don't have root beer in the UK, but to me Blue Velvet smells of aniseed I think?

Absolutely. I'm sold. I'm completely and utterly sold, I'll be surprised if I buy another liquid lipstick from anyone else ever again. These are a dream, and the colours keep getting better and better. I'm actually annoyed with myself that it took me so long to try them in the first place, but I'm glad I bit the bullet in the end! Long-wearing, non-drying, and beautiful pigmentation all across the board.

What do you guys think of the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks? Have you tried them?
